Kurtley Beale questions Brad Thorn's 'silly' decision to punt Quade Cooper

Kurtley Beale questions Brad Thorn's 'silly' decision to punt Quade Cooper Kurtley Beale has questioned Brad Thorn's "silly" decision to leave Quade Cooper out of Queensland's plans this season, saying his former Wallabies teammate is a match-winner who at least deserves to be picked up by another Super Rugby franchise. Thorn has told Cooper not to turn up to Reds training for the time being, meaning the 29-year-old is set to take home a six-figure salary this year by playing club rugby in Brisbane. While Cooper wasn't in career-best form last year, to leave him out of the club's plan is a perplexing decision by Thorn, who clearly wants to take a stance and create a solid culture at the Reds.

Beale, who is about to begin his third stint with the Tahs, pulled out of last week's Tens tournament with an elbow injury.

Two Wallabies, halfback Nick Phipps and lock-blindside flanker Ned Hanigan are still on the injury list and won't play in Thursday's four by 20-minute quarter match at Brookvale Oval in Sydney's north.

The Tahs run-on side contains eight Wallabies including former Reds lock Rob Simmons, who will be making his NSW debut, Michael Hooper, Israel Folau and Bernard Foley.
